Hon. Tunji-Ojo Decorates Nandap as New Immigration Boss | Cliptv Online

The Honorable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has officially announced Kemi Nanna Nandap as the 19th Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service.

Significance

This follows the retirement of the former Immigration Comptroller General, Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, after years of dedicated service. Wuraola Adepoju has served diligently and now retired from service.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board in Abuja.

Expectations:

Dr. Tunji-Ojo expressed his confidence in Nandap’s abilities and capabilities during the event. He charged Nandap to focus more on border security, a key responsibility of the Nigeria Immigration Service.

Promise:

Responding to her appointment, CG Nandap expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for entrusting her with the role. She vowed to serve with diligence, integrity and prioritize the welfare of her officers.

Goals:

Nandap is committed to developing policies to counter irregular migration and enhance border security. She believes a secure border is essential for national safety.

Background:

A native of Abeokuta in Ogun State, Nandap attended Corona Primary School and St. John’s College in Jos. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ibadan.

Experience:

Nandap joined the Nigeria Immigration Service in 1989. Over the years, she has served in various capacities across different Formations of NIS.

Education:

Nandap holds a Master of Science in International Relations and Strategic Studies from the University of Jos. She also has a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Abuja.

Nandap Certifications:

Additionally, she holds a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Development from the Lagos Business School. She also had a Certificate in Leadership and Succession Planning from the Centre for Management Development.

Recognition:

She has been recognized as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public and Diplomacy Management. However, she is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria also.

Nandap Previous Role:

Before her appointment as the CGI, Kemi Nanna Nandap served as the Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Passport and Other Travel Documents.

Future Plans:

As the new Comptroller General, Nandap is poised to redefine the Nigeria Immigration Service’s approach to border security and overall operations. She will therefore brace up to the responsibility.

Finally, the newly inaugurated Comptroller General is expected to collaborate with interior minister to ensure border security. The duo will device programs expected to lead to significant improvements in Nigeria’s immigration policies and practices.
