The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has categorically refuted a story circulating and attributed to “concerned workers” claiming that passwords for result uploads have been withdrawn from Local Government Area (LGA) Supervisors for use by APO1s (Assistant Presiding Officers 1) in Imo State.
In a statement released by the Commission, it asserts that the information is entirely untrue and misleading. The correct procedure, according to INEC, designates Presiding Officers (POs) and not APO1s, as the individuals responsible for result uploads to the IReV (INEC Result Viewing portal).
The Commission clarified that all passwords necessary for the result upload process have been securely released for use by designated officials in accordance with INEC’s established procedures.
The statement also acknowledges the potential for further misinformation attempts, cautioning the public to anticipate such insinuations before, during, and after elections. INEC urges the public to disregard such information and assured that the Commission remains committed to transparent and credible electoral processes.
