LAGOS SCHOOLS AND SECURITY CONCERN – Obasa

The Lagos School principals have been charged to rise to ensure that their schools are secured adequately, especially from cultism and hooliganism. And also guide against other social vices. The Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa represented by the Chairman House committee on Education,Hon. Sanni Ganiu Babatunde Okanlawon disclosed this on Thursday at the African Principals Conference Fellowship induction held in Sheraton Hotels Ikeja, Lagos, noted that the motion must be moved in the house of Assembly towards a greater education in Lagos with the safety of our children and teachers in the schools that we must not give criminality a space in the society, also as part of intervention to awakening our conscience.

Ajani Owolabi also emphasise in his address that there are so many roles parents and principals could play in securing lives and good education for their children. He pointed out that school principals should have direct engagement with their local government chairmen so as to help curb whatever trash and crack commited at the wall of their schools. While he rated the education in Lagos as the best in the west African.

He cited an experience when his cousin travelled to the United Kingdom from Lagos to study after conducting series of tests on him and he was rated as phenomenon in his education.

The Director General of the African Principals conference initiative, Mr. Joseph Ayodele enunciated that over 55 principals of top schools across Lagos State and Abuja have been inducted as fellows to build a personal brand quality that holds everything together and keep things moving in the right direction. He explained that some are being awarded fellow as a special honor for getting to the peak of their careers before their pending imminent retirement from service. The pool of fellows of the African principals conference will be readily available for transformation assignments in Africa; given that they have uncommon passion for self- renewal and developments.

He advised Nigerians to keep on learning and unlearned as workers needed to be trained in every 10 years in order to look for a new idea to make progress as a nation.
