Landmark, Igbodu, Other CDAs Received New Knowledge on Security, CVR, Grassroots Development | ClipTV

The 2025 Ikorodu Community Development Committee (CDC) interactive session took a new shape as the CDC leadership invited government agencies to enlighten Community Development Associations (CDA) leaders. Landmark CDA, Zone 5, ably represented by the Chairman, Mr. Kunle Oshifuwa, and his General Secretary, fully participated in the event, taking notes on new ideas for implementation.

Mr. Sikiru Balogun, Chairman of Igbodu CDA, Zone 5 commended the Ikorodu LG CDC leadership. He noted that the interactive session had been an eye-opener, exposing CDA leaders to further information on administering policies to support community members.

“It was indeed an interactive session,” he said. “The interactive session provided the opportunity for CDA leadership to be trained on security, environmental protection, and exercising their political franchise through continuous voters registration (CVR)”

In his goodwill message, the Community Policing Forum (CPF) Chairman, Pastor Taiwo Kayode, charged community leaders to sensitize their members on security. He noted that the challenges faced in communities often begin from individual homes.

He therefore underscored the need for parents to train their children and others on decency in speaking and dressing. Pastor Kayode emphasized that simple decency can bring about significant improvements in communal harmony.

He further charged CDA leadership to implement the “Know Your Neighbor” form. According to him, this initiative will help curb criminality in the community, as individuals with ulterior motives will avoid it. The CPF Chairman noted that the initiative has the backing of traditional rulers and the Lagos State Police Commissioner.

In addition, he pointed out that criminals are present in every community, and the operation of the “Know Your Neighbor” form will introduce punitive measures for individuals who refuse to comply.

The CDC Chairman, Elder Yekini Ogunjimi, expressed his appreciation for the massive turnout of CDAs. He thanked all participants and stakeholders for their immense contributions to the success of the interactive session.

Elder Ogunjimi specially acknowledged the LG Chairman, Hon. Prince Adedayo Ladega, and his counterpart, Hon. Babawale Alogba, for their contributions to grassroots development since assuming office.

He equally noted that the CDC leadership will uphold lessons learned from the interactive session, particularly the need to encourage members to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs). Additionally, he promised to develop a communiqué that will help achieve the plans discussed at the event.

Others in attendance includes the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekini Agbaje; Ikorodu Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Adedayo Ladega ably represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Babawale Alogba; and many other notable players in community development.

The 22025 Ikorodu LG CDC Interactive Session as been a platform to learn, relearn, and unlearn. It has been an opportunity to apply new knowledge and a renewed hope grassroot development. The interactive session further indicate that each community cam still curb lawlessness and uphold dignity.
