National Union of Zamfara States Students (NUZAMSS) Holds Inaugural Unity Congress | Cliptv Online

On Sunday, October 29, 2023, the National Union of Zamfara State Students (NUZAMSS) convened its first National Unity Congress at the MH3 lecture hall, Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto.

This gathering brought together members of the union from various educational institutions, encompassing local, state, and national levels. The meeting delved into critical matters concerning the union and the broader student community in Zamfara.

Comrade Sani Isma’il (Algusawy), the National President of NUZAMSS, emphasized that the congress aimed to reunite members from different higher learning institutions nationwide and unveil the achievements of the current administration of the union.

“This preconvention congress aligns with our mission and vision of uniting all Zamfara state students under one umbrella, regardless of their background,” Algusawy stated.

Among their accomplishments, he mentioned the successful meeting with the former governor, Bello Muhammad Matawalle, regarding scholarship issues, even though the commitment was left unfulfilled due to his electoral loss. Algusawy expressed optimism that the present governor, Dauda Lawal, would address these concerns.

The union also announced significant amendments to its constitution and the redesign of its logo, symbolizing the agricultural, mineral resources, and educational pride of the state.

Algusawy called upon union members to actively support and cooperate in developing both the union and the state. He emphasized that the future of the union and Zamfara state depended on their proactive efforts, as the government’s support was contingent on their own determination.

Misbahu Abubakar, a native of Talata-Mafara local government who traveled from the College of Legal and Arabic Studies, Wamakko, expressed his delight at the congress, which allowed him to reconnect with many acquaintances he had not seen in some time. He believed the meeting would significantly bolster the unity and strength of the association.

The events during the congress included the unveiling of the newly redesigned union logo, a review and adoption of the union constitution, and a two-minute prayer in honor of the late Comrade Abba Bala Haruna, one of the union’s executive members, who passed away several months ago.
