Yuletide: Abiru Distributes Food Packs to 10,000 Households Across Lagos East | ClipTV Online

The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, has once again demonstrated his commitment to supporting constituents by distributing food packs to 10,000 households across 98 wards and 16 Council Development Areas (LCDAs) during this year’s End-of-Year and New Year celebrations.

The distribution exercise took place simultaneously across the five main Local Government Areas—Ibeju-Lekki, Kosofe, Epe, Somolu, and Ikorodu—highlighting Senator Abiru’s philosophy of “Greater Good to the Larger Number.”

Speaking during the distribution event at his Constituency Office in Ikorodu, Senator Abiru emphasized the importance of compassion and solidarity, especially in challenging times.

He said:
“This initiative reflects our shared values and unwavering commitment to uplifting the less privileged, particularly during this festive season. True to my mantra of ‘Greater Good to the Larger Number,’ we are ensuring that no one is left behind.”

Reaching All Segments of Society

The food packs were distributed to a wide range of beneficiaries, reflecting the diversity and inclusivity of Lagos East. The beneficiaries include:

Religious bodies: Members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the League of Imams and Alfas.

Political stakeholders: Party leaders, canvassers, and members across all 98 wards and 16 LGAs.

Youths, students, women, artisans, aged individuals, persons living with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.

Randomly selected constituents shortlisted from online nominations.

Senator Abiru, who chairs the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions, reiterated that this initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision to provide relief and support for Nigerians during the economic reforms.

He stated:
“This effort is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s call for elected officials to provide succour to the most vulnerable in society as we navigate the impact of bold economic reforms designed to reposition our country for greatness.”
