Amaechi’s Former Aide, Tony Okocha, Labeled ‘Defective Neophyte’ by APC Chieftain Eze in War of Words | Cliptv Online

In a heated exchange of words within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, an APC chieftain, launched a scathing attack on Tony Okocha, an erstwhile aide to Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, former Governor of Rivers State. Eze accused Okocha of being an “obdurate, unrepentant saboteur” and part of a breed of “defective and valueless neophytes.”

The dispute stems from Okocha’s recent public statement, where he asserted that Amaechi was no longer the leader of the APC in Rivers State. Okocha claimed credit for mobilizing support for the APC presidential candidate, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, and alleged that Amaechi had abandoned the party.

Chief Eze, in his response, expressed disappointment in Okocha’s comments, highlighting Amaechi’s past support for him, even appointing him Chief of Staff during his tenure as Governor. Eze accused Okocha of ingratitude and questioned his loyalty to the APC during the 2023 general elections, challenging him to prove his party membership.

Eze further characterized Okocha as a chameleon, accusing him of constantly changing allegiances for personal gain. He suggested that Okocha’s recent comments might be a ploy to attract financial support from undisclosed sponsors, insinuating bankruptcy.

Despite the verbal sparring, Eze emphasized that Amaechi would not stoop to Okocha’s level in the political mudslinging. He urged Okocha to focus on serious national issues, such as hunger and insecurity, instead of engaging in trivial conflicts.

The rift exposes internal tensions within the APC in Rivers State, with personal and political loyalties at the forefront of the verbal altercation. As the war of words unfolds, the future dynamics of the APC in the state remain uncertain.
