In a groundbreaking move toward enhancing collaboration between law enforcement and the media, Commissioner of Police (CP) Adegoke Fayoade of Lagos State engaged with members of the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) for a familiarization session on Wednesday. This meeting stands as a testament to the CP’s recognition of NAOSNP’s dedication to delivering timely and accurate security news.

CP Fayoade expressed his commitment to fostering a working relationship with the media, with a special acknowledgment of NAOSNP as the first set of media professionals he has engaged with since taking office. He praised the association’s unwavering efforts in serving the public through the dissemination of security-related news.

In response, NAOSNP President, Mr. Samson O. Oki, expressed gratitude to CP Fayoade, acknowledging the commissioner’s proactive measures in bringing about positive changes within Lagos State. Oki urged association members to exercise patience, considering the inevitable pressures faced by law enforcement agencies.

A focal point of appreciation during the meeting was the commendable role played by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin. Oki highlighted SP Hundeyin’s swift responses to public inquiries, particularly on social media platforms. He commended the PPRO for actively engaging with Lagos residents who often find it more convenient to voice their concerns through online channels.

Oki expressed optimism for a more robust and positive collaboration between the police force and NAOSNP members.
