NPF Implements Comprehensive Insurance Policy for Personnel Welfare | Cliptv Online

IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun Distributes Over 2 Billion Naira to Families of Deceased Officers

In a significant move towards enhancing the welfare of its personnel, the Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, is set to implement a comprehensive standard insurance policy. This commitment to quality service delivery was highlighted during a meeting with Mr. Sunday Thomas, the Commissioner for Insurance at the National Insurance Commission.

As part of the initiative, the Inspector-General of Police presided over the distribution of insurance benefits totaling Two Billion, Eighty-Six Million, Eight Hundred and One Thousand, One Hundred and Forty-Four Naira, Seventy-Nine Kobo (N2,086,801,144.79k) to seven hundred and eighty-five (785) families and Next of Kin of deceased officers. These benefits cover the insurance policy years 2015/2016, 2017/2018, and 2021/2022 under the Group Life Assurance Policy and the Inspector-General of Police Family Welfare Insurance Scheme for the year 2022/2023.

The distribution ceremony, held at the Force Headquarters, reinforces the Police Force’s commitment to supporting the families of officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Cumulatively, the Force has settled Two Thousand, Five Hundred and Thirty-Three (2,533) insurance claims, amounting to Six Billion, Thirteen Million, Forty-Three Thousand, Three Hundred and Twenty-Six Naira, Fifty-One Kobo (N6,013,043,326.51k) between June 2023 to date.

The Inspector-General of Police expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing police welfare and ensuring the timely release of premiums for deceased officers. He reiterated his administration’s dedication to promptly disbursing insurance payments and other welfare benefits to beneficiaries, emphasizing the importance of supporting those who have lost their loved ones in service to the nation.
