Former President Muhammadu Buhari Apologizes for Absence at APC Caucus Meeting, Cites Prior Commitments | Cliptv Online

In a recent statement, former President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his regrets for not attending the caucus meeting of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The party had scheduled the national caucus and national executive committee (NEC) meetings for August 2 and 3, respectively.

Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, issued a statement explaining that the former president was unable to attend the meetings due to prior commitments. Although he was invited to the important gatherings, Buhari conveyed his apologies and reiterated his support and commitment to the party.

The national caucus meeting took place at the presidential villa on Wednesday, with key party leaders in attendance. The NEC summit is set to assemble party leaders at the Transcorp Hilton on Thursday to address vital issues concerning the party and the nation.

In a similar fashion, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo also extended his apologies for his unavailability at the events. Osinbajo cited his involvement in several assignments outside the country as the reason for his absence.

The postponement of the national caucus and NEC meetings was initially announced on July 17 by Abubakar Kyari, the acting national chairman of the APC. The decision came after the “resignation” of Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore as the National Chairman and National Secretary of the ruling party, respectively. The change in the party’s leadership necessitated the rescheduling of the meetings.

Despite their absence, both Buhari and Osinbajo reiterated their support for the APC and expressed confidence in the party’s leaders to make important decisions for the betterment of the party and the nation. The meetings are expected to address crucial matters affecting the party’s future and governance in the country.

While Buhari’s prior commitments kept him from participating in the recent gatherings, his continued support for the APC highlights the importance of party cohesion and unity in tackling the challenges facing Nigeria. As the ruling party strategizes and discusses its future direction, the involvement and commitment of key leaders like Buhari and Osinbajo remain vital for the party’s success in fulfilling its promises to the Nigerian people.
